Holiday lights draw a crowd

Let there be light! The huge Christmas light display in Sleepy Hollow Woods went live at 7 p.m. on Dec. 2.

Dozens of neighbors gathered in front of 6800 Murray Lane to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies as homeowner Dave Fase flipped the switch to start an animated light show that covered the front of the house and yard, and even spilled over to the house next door.

The grand opening was accompanied by music, fireworks, and “snow.”

Dave estimates there are 50,000 lights. He’s been doing this for at least 14 years, and the display has gotten bigger each year. He started putting the decorations up after Halloween.

This year, his daughter Emy, a sophomore at Justice High School, added a charity component. She is asking visitors to donate food and hygiene products for the ACCA food pantry.

  1. My daughter and I would love to stop by to watch the Christmas lights at this location. The idea of adding a charity component to visitors by their daughter is a wonderful idea! Can a list of needed items for the ACCA food pantry be posted?
