Justice HS holds a Recycling Fair

Justice High School students helped local residents declutter their homes while keeping unneeded items out of landfills.

The students unloaded and sorted items dropped off at the school’s Recycling Fair on Oct. 19.

The event, hosted by the Justice Athletic Boosters and Student Services Department, consisted of three recycling stations in the school’s parking lot:

  • eAsset Solutions of Falls Church collected computers, laptops, printers, keyboards, and other electronic devices. That recycling operation was sponsored by the Bailey’s Crossroads Rotary Club and its classic Mustang raffle.

  • People dropped off sensitive documents at a shredding truck from Safeguard Shredding sponsored by the Chrissy and Lisa Team at RE/MAX and KVS Title.
  • Fairfax County Public Schools’ Safe Routes to School program collected bicycles in good condition to distribute to students in need. That program encourages students to walk or bike to school.

Students from the Justice Key Club, National Honor Society, Ecology Club, and the UNICEF Club helped out at the event.

Deanna Freeman of the Athletic Boosters called the event “a great way for students to give back to the community.”
