Libraries to reopen for express service on March 22

The Woodrow Wilson Library in Baileys Crossroads.

Fairfax County public libraries will re-open for express services on Monday, March 22.

Customers will be able to visit library branches for up to 30 minutes. Express service will be available on Monday and Tuesday 10-a.m.-8 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Each library will have a capacity limit to support social distancing: 60 people for regional branches, such as George Mason Regional Library in Annandale, and 30 people for community branches.

Express services are focused on grab-and-go activities, although library users may browse the shelves, use a computer, and pick up holds. Library patrons over age 5 must wear a mask.

Library programs will continue to be virtual. Meeting rooms will be unavailable, as they are being used to store furniture and quarantined library materials.

Curbside services will continue to be available Monday through Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
