On Oct. 17, the public is invited to “See You Later! George Mason Library Celebration and Open House,” 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m., at 7001 Little River Turnpike in Annandale. The event features speakers, entertainment, a “shelfie” station, crafts, activities, giveaways, and a slideshow of the library through the years.

The library’s last day is Oct. 23. The renovation will include a maker space, several gathering spaces, a meeting space that will be open before and after regular library hours, a redesigned layout, and energy conservation improvements.
