A man was fatally shot in an apartment at Skyline Towers in Bailey’s Crossroads on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 30, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

A witness inside the apartment, in the 5500 block of Seminary Road, called the police at about 2:45 p.m. Officers found an adult male with gunshot wounds on the third floor of the south tower. He was pronounced dead at the scene, said 2nd Lt. James Curry in the FCPD Public Affairs Bureau during a media briefing.

The police have not yet identified the victim or suspects. They are in the process of executing a search warrant,

Three men in their 20s were seen running after the shooting. Two were described as Black men with dark shirts and dark pants. The other was Hispanic with a white shirt and black pants.

There are no signs of forced entry, Curry said. “This does not appear to be a random act.”

“We’re fortunate we have a good relationship with the security at Skyline Towers,” he said. They provided access to their surveillance footage, which showed the suspects left about 10 to 15 minutes after the shooting.

It doesn’t appear that anyone else was injured by a stray bullet. A shelter-in-place order for the building has been lifted.

“We’re still trying to determine the exact circumstances.” We’re talking to neighbors, and witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage,” Curry said.

He urges anyone with information to call the police. To the suspects in the images, he said, “turn yourselves in so we can hear what you have to say.”

  1. Is there any way we can get this garbage out of Mason? This is why the Republicans are gaining traction. The Dems keep cow towing to these despots making Mason the back door slums of DC.
