Mason Police District commander promoted to deputy police chief

Mason District Police Commander Erin Weeks at a National Night Out event in Annandale.

Big changes are coming to the Mason Police District.

Major Erin Weeks, the station commander, has been promoted to deputy chief of the Fairfax County Police Department, where she will be in charge of the Internal Affairs Bureau.

Weeks has led the Mason Police District since January 2024. A successor has not been announced yet.

She joined the FCPD in 2006 at the Mount Vernon Station and served in various leadership roles, including assistant commander in the Violent Crimes Division of the Major Crimes Bureau.

PFC Michael Williams, the community outreach officer, has also been promoted. He will be a detective in the domestic violence unit of the Major Crimes Bureau.
