Mason Police District gets a new commander

The Mason District Police Station is getting a new
commander. Capt. David Smith, assistant director of the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Training Academy, is scheduled to take command of the Mason Police
District on Jan. 11.
Smith replaces Capt. Carol Wilhite, who’s only been Mason
Police commander since April 2013. According to a police department
spokesperson, the county’s new police chief, Col. Edwin Roessler Jr., is making
a lot of personnel changes. The Criminal Justice Academy serves the Fairfax County
Police Department, Sheriff’s Office, and Fire Marshal’s Office and the police
departments of Herndon and Vienna.

  1. Thanks, Ellie. I noted this a month ago or so and have tried to reach the Captain to offer a tour of Lincolnia Park and the issues that we face. Do you have his contact info by any chance?
