New restaurants coming to Bailey’s Crossroads

Several new dining options are in the works for Bailey’s Crossroads.

The Nile Restaurant is slated to open Monday, June 22, at 5624 Columbia Pike.

Gamal Elhadi, the owner, plans to offer kebabs, grilled chicken, fried fish, salads, and Mediterranean specialties.

Habibi House will offer a Middle Eastern take on coffee.

Elhadi has been the manager at Duccini’s Pizzeria next door for the past 10 years and says he’s excited to have his own place.

The Nile Restaurant will be open 11 a.m.-11:59 p.m. seven days a week.

A sign at 3400-B Washington Drive (actually Leesburg Pike) in Bailey’s Crossroads announces the Habibi House Café to open this summer in the spot formerly occupied by the short-lived Shaghf Café next to the Jerusalem restaurant.

Chili Wok is expected to move into the space in the same shopping strip formerly occupied by Yeshi Kitfo.

On the next block, plans for a Yemeni café on the ground floor of an office building at 5881 Leesburg Pike have stalled due to lease and code violations, according to a notice on the door. However, the landlord says the problems will soon be resolved.

Across the street, renovations are well underway, and the sign is up for the Bora Bora Smoothie Café. Renovations are also moving along at the McDonald’s at 5603 Leesburg Pike.
