New summer schedule in effect for FCPS summer meal kits

Fairfax County Public Schools is providing free meal kits through Aug. 5. The sites and bus routes are different from the ones in effect during the school year. 

Summer meal kits are offered on Mondays at 10 sites throughout the county, including Falls Church High School, 8:30-10:30 a.m., through Aug.  2. Next week, the kits will be distributed on Tuesday, July 6, due to the Independence Day observance on Monday, July 5.

The kits contain seven days of breakfast and lunch items packed in bulk. They are available at no cost to all FCPS students and children age 10 and younger. Parents and caregivers may pick up food for children, and adults may purchase a kit for $28. 

Meal kits, with enough food for the week, will also be distributed on bus routes throughout the county on a weekly basis. Meal kits delivered on bus routes will not have adult meals available for purchase.

The following bus routes serve the Annandale/Mason District area. 

Mondays, Route GNG-03-M, through Aug. 2, with these stops:
