A new restaurant, called Nua Haus, opened in Annandale specializing in the spicy
cuisine of northeast Thailand, sushi, and a wide variety of craft beer. It’s at
7203 Columbia Pike in the building vacated by Imm Thai Cuisine.

Nua Haus is a family-run business, and “we want it to feel
like a home,” Griffith says. Every entree comes with black sticky rice, the
staple from her homeland.

Nua means “delicious” in Thai, and haus, the German word for
“house,” reflects the focus on beer.

The quality of Imm Thai went significantly down as soon as they opened their DC restaurant. They were previously a pretty decent place.
I have to say that I'm not sad to hear this. I just tried Imm Thai last month because I'd heard it was really good, but the veggie pad Thai I got tasted so much like fish that I couldn't eat more than a few mouthfuls!
I'll definitely try Nua Haus; it couldn't get much worse.

Another Thai place is fine. Annandale needs a good Indian/Pakistani restaurant option. And no food corner isn't Indian/Pakistani and Shiney's doesn't cut it.
Indaroma and Taj Restaurant are pretty great, that's two places in Annandale
Indaroma is highly overrated. Underwhelming portions for the price. Bland, pretentious food. And don't order cakes from them. Arm and leg for amateur quality.
I havn't tried Taj yet. Let's see.
Granted, it's only an opinion, but I completely disagree and your opinion is def in the minority. Bland? they put actual saffron in their rice. I've been to a couple events catered by them and I've been very impressed. No comment on the cakes, havent had them.
I can only speak of the food and I love Indaroma. I went with a friend who is Indian/ Pakistani and she enjoyed the food as well. She bought a couple of her favorite dishes and she said she enjoyed them and they did a great job. My friend is Indian and raised in Pakistan. I agree I would love to see bigger portions but the food is tasty.
I am Indian also, spent ten years there. Unfortunately bland and "Americanized" Indian food at vast majority of Indian restaurants is par for the course;-) Even when you ask them to make it Indian style. Such is the case with Indaroma.
We ordered delivery through grubhub. It was fabulous. The curries and the sushi were both excellent. My new favorite.
Really, oh now you got me salivating Nua Haus. The only Tai restaurant that I have been going to here is Duangrats, which i love.
Ok, I'm trying them THIS WEEK. Can't wait!
