Inova forms partnership with DispatchHealth to bring healthcare to patients’ homes
Medical house calls are coming back to Northern Virginia residents. Inova has formed a partnership with DispatchHealth, which sends healthcare providers to patients’ homes for urgent illnesses and injuries that aren’t severe enough for an emergency room visit.
Annandale-based Korean American advocacy organization rebrands itself

Man shot at Bailey’s Crossroads grocery store
Food Star [File photo] There was a shooting inside the Food Star at 5521 Leesburg Pike in Bailey’s Crossroads, the Fairfax County Police Department tweeted at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. A man told police he shot someone in self-defense. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries considered life threatening.
Construction underway on Columbia Pike statue
A rendering of the “The Pike.” [Arlington County] Construction is underway on the foundation for “The Pike,” a huge spear-like sculpture on Columbia Pike marking the entry to Arlington from Bailey’s Crossroads. The Pike, commissioned by Arlington County, will be located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Columbia Pike and S. Jefferson Street.
Little River Turnpike improvements are part of Chik-fil-A project
This new road will lead to the drive-through window. Work is almost completed on a new turn lane from westbound Little River Turnpike into the Chik-fil-A under construction in central Annandale. The project also includes a new sidewalk, curb, and gutter in front of the restaurant.
County planners expected to recommend reduced requirements for off-street parking
Fairfax County planners are looking at how much parking is needed for such uses as apartments, grocery stores, office buildings, and shopping centers. New developments might not need as much parking as currently required in Fairfax County’s Zoning Ordinance. Annandale Toastmasters Club builds speaking skills – and cleans up the community

Since the group adopted a section of the roadway in Lincolnia in 2019, members have collected many bags of litter during cleanup events, most recently on Nov. 7.
