Election update: Connolly’s margin expands but recount possible

Votes from two malfunctioning voting machines in Virginia’s 11th district have been counted, and Rep. Gerry Connolly’s lead over Keith Fimian has expanded to about 820 votes. Since the margin is less than 1 percent, Fimian can request a recount but must wait until the election results are certified.

Annandale voters contribute to Connolly’s victory

Democrat Gerry Connolly got enough votes to narrowly keep his seat in the House of Representatives, with nearly all the precincts in Annandale and nearby areas contributing to his victory.
