Annandale food hall vendors revealed

The building covered with colorful murals that is being renovated in Annandale will be a food hall with several counters.
Located at 7219 Columbia Pike, it is expected to open within the next few weeks.
Some of the vendors inside include:
- Seoul Kravings, featuring “Korean street food, bold flavors, and Seoulful bites.”
- Dough Market, with “Asian-inspired doughnuts, pastries, and coffee.”
- Rice Culture, with “Filipino Japanese taiyaki and soft serve.”

Taiyaki is a crunchy fish-shaped cake with a creamy filling. There are Rice Culture outlets in Vienna and Chantilly.
A Vietnamese food counter is also planned, as well as a full bar.

We are saturated with Asian restaurants, but I guess this replaces The Block which was successful and beloved.
Yep, Annandale is clueless. Same stuff!!😒🙄
I agree. You literally can’t throw a rock in that part of Annandale without already hitting an Asian restaurant. Don’t know what having more of them would accomplish.
Annandale should be more like Shirlington which has Guaopos, Damn Good Burger, Stellina Pizzeria, and a bunch more all within easy walking distance.
I agree with Pam. Also, the murals are rather garish, not really attractive. But I guess they’re screaming that this is all about Asian culture.
Why can’t we have some vendors with some soul food or vendors selling some Filipino food or some other different kinds of foods other than Chinese food all the time we need a variety of foods not just one particular kind of food.
There is are at least two Filipino restaurants within a mile or two of downtown Annandale. One at the end of Sleepy Hollow at 7 Corners and one at Bradlick.
What an ignorant comment Regina. There is a lack of Chinese food in Annandale. Please know the difference between Chinese, Korean, and Filipino food.
None of these restaurants are serving Chinese food. In the area, Korean is the predominant Asian, then probably Vietnamese, then Chinese. I don’t think I’ve seen a new Chinese place open in Annandale. There is a good Filipino place south in Springfield Plaza. There are a couple of southern places around Shirlington. My go to used to be a good hole in the wall on Arlington Mill drive, but it closed.
New retail is great but this part of Annandale is now becoming too traffic congested. We will have full gridlock when the new apartments open on John Marr. After over 30 years, I’m considering moving.
And, I agree with Pam – same stuff!
How about American cuisine? We are in America after all. We already have plenty of restaurants in the area that cater to other countries. They took all the good restaurants away.
