Police hand out donated PJs and socks in Lincolnia

Mason District Police officers distribute donated PJs and socks at the community resource center at Strawbridge Square.

Fairfax County Police officers from the Mason District station handed out dozens of pajamas, slippers, and socks to families at the Strawbridge Square Apartments in Lincolnia on March 21.

The clothing items were donated by community members over the past few months. The police also gave kids stuffed animals, stickers, and treats.

Another PJ giveaway event was held earlier this year in Culmore.

Bubbles is a member of the FCPD K9 unit.

Children at Strawbridge Square also got to meet Bubbles, the FCPD’s explosive detection K9.

Bubbles’ handler, MPO G. Ramirez, said Bubbles, a 5-year-old black lab, went through 16 weeks of training where she learned to identify suspicious odors and work in various locations. Her first big find was detecting improvised illegal fireworks.
