Fairfax County Police identified the victim of a fatal crash in Annandale Feb. 4.

Annandale resident Yun Hu, a 72-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. She was a passenger in a 2006 Lexus RX 3301 that was involved in a crash with a 2024 BMW X6.

Detectives from the FCPD Crash Reconstruction Unit determined the driver of the Lexus attempted a left turn from Bradfield Drive onto westbound Braddock Road at about 9:40 a.m. and drove in front of BMW traveling eastbound on Braddock Road, resulting in the crash.

All five occupants in the Lexus and both occupants in the BMW were taken to the hospital. Two people remain in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other four were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released a short time later.

Detectives do not believe speed or alcohol are factors in the crash.

Anyone with information about the crash should call the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543.

This is the third traffic crash fatality in Fairfax County so far in 2024.

  1. People are drving horrible lately, liked this morning, there was a truck yields right turn and cut off Infront of me and the one next lane, which meant the View truck driver cut 2 lanes when both cars on the way. Wonder why the driver did and the car next to me almost hit the View truck. Why hurry and why was so careless?

    1. I agree. People are driving like they are the only people on the roads. Driving through red lights has become the norm now. They drive down the roads weaving in and out of lanes because no one is going fast enough. Police rarely pull anyone over anymore. It’s actually a miracle that there aren’t more bad accidents that cause deaths and serious injuries.
