Fairfax County police have been searching the area for a man who stole a medical transport vehicle from Inova Fairfax Hospital Feb 19. The vehicle was abandoned in the 4200 block of Annandale Road in Annandale.

The suspect, Rickey Lowe, 32, of Prince William County, escaped wearing a hospital gown, the Fairfax County Police Department reports. He had an IV in his arm and was being treated for injuries sustained in a crash at Route 50 and I-66 in Fair Oaks.

All five adult occupants were transported to the hospital, including one in critical condition, later downgraded to non-life-threatening. That vehicle had been stolen from another jurisdiction and police found a rifle, a pistol with an obliterated serial number, a bag of white powder, and drug paraphernalia inside.

Prince William County police officers potentially spotted Lowe at around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 19, leading to an extensive search by the FCPD helicopter, but he is still on the loose.

Lowe is described as Black male, about 300 pounds, with a shaved head and tattoos on his arms. Police obtained a warrant for grand larceny.

UPDATE: Lowe was arrested Feb. 23 in Prince George’s County.

    1. Are you kidding? Look at this guy – totally in control. He’s probably lounging on a beach in an exotic location somewhere. The panic and incompetence was just a clever ruse.
