Registration opens for Taste of Annandale 5K

The 5K will start at 9:30 a.m., just before the start of the Taste of Annandale at 10 a.m.

The race begins and ends at 4251 John Marr Drive in the parking lot of the East Gate Shopping Center.  

The course heads down Columbia Pike to Mason District Park, goes through the park, and returns along Columbia Pike back to the starting point. The police department will ensure runners’ safety on the road.

Nova Race Timing is handling the logistics. Participants can walk, bring dogs, and push strollers.

The race is $30 plus a $2.80 signup fee. The price increases to $35 after April 9. For runners age 14 and younger, it’s $20.

Runners will get T-shirts and bibs. A fitness trainer from RAMP Optimal Performance and Wellness will lead warmups before the race.

There will be medals for the fastest male and female adults and youths.
