Seafood restaurant opens in Annandale

Mad Seafood is bringing a taste of Louisiana to Annandale.
The new restaurant, at the corner of Annandale Road, Poplar Street, and Markham Street, specializes in Cajun-style, farm-raised fish and shrimp.

It’s open now, but a grand opening is planned for May 30, says manager Moe Abed.
The type of fish served is swai, which is similar to catfish and tilapia, and comes fried or grilled. There are also chicken and po’boy sandwiches.

Sides include fried green tomatoes, fried okra, green beans, mac and cheese, corn on the cob, red beans and rice, fries, and more.
Mad Seafood is not part of a chain or a franchise business. “It’s our first and only restaurant, for now,” Abed says.
Hello, love to have seafood options around here, and love how you grill the fish not just fried! Could you also offer more fish options? Wild Haddock or Trout would be amaazzzing! Or healthier farm-raised sources. Swai fish isn’t good quality and known for heavy antibiotic use in Vietnam and low in Omega 3s. It’s even worse than farm-raised tilapia, which I thought was the worst fish to get until I looked up Swai fish.
Yes I love this I am a Alexandria citizen and also from Trinidad and that’s my style of food I pray In time crabs and oysters cod fish etc will be added as well I usually go to the market fish place on old town but now I will be visiting you as well ❤️🩹
IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE THAT YOU SELL LOBSTER ROLLS. WE WOULD BE ONE OF YOUR BEST CUSTOMERS. NOT AWARE OF LOBSTER ROLLS SOLD BY ANY BUSINESS IN ANNANDALE. WE WISH YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS SUCCESS.
Hmmm…. fish and shrimp raised in a pond in Indonesia shouldn’t be allowed to be called seafood and certainly isn’t Cajun. Don’t eat it.
Ok
