Six arrested for soliciting sex with children

Fairfax County police arrested six men in an online sting operation for the sexual exploitation of children.

Under the Summer Traveler Operation, conducted over several days, detectives from the FCPD Child Exploitation Unit and Organized Crime and Intelligence bureaus used online platforms to identify and apprehend predators who use the internet to exploit children.

The six offenders initiated explicit conversations and solicited sex from police officers posing as children. When the suspects arrived at agreed-upon locations to meet children, detectives took them into custody.

These six men were charged with a combined 21 felonies:

  • Raul Ramirez-Roja, age 27, from Winchester – two counts of proposing a sex act and one count of indecent liberties with a child under age 15.
  • Julio Lozano Lazo, 29, of Maryland – two counts of proposing a sex act, one count of indecent liberties with a child under 15, and one count of procuring a minor for obscene material by a communication system.
  • Jvonni Farmer, 28, of Woodbridge – one count of proposing a sex act and one count of indecent liberties with a child under 15.
  • Elmer Juarez Calderon, 26, of Arlington – one count of proposing a sex act and one count of indecent liberties with a child under 15.
  • Marcus Hal Sturdivant, 35, of Harrisonburg – arrested by the City of Harrisonburg Police Department and charged with four counts of proposing a sex act.
  • William Godoy Estrada, 43, of Arlington – four counts of proposing a sex act, attempted production of child pornography, and attempted indecent liberties.

The FCPD urges parents to closely monitor their children’s online activities and use security settings to prevent children from accessing inappropriate websites. Children should be encouraged to report any person engaging in inappropriate conversations or trying to coerce them into providing sexually explicit images of themselves.
