More than 150 people signed up for free exams at The Joint Chiropractic before and during the shop’s Grand Opening on March 19.

The free visit offer has been extended through the end of the month, says Justin Vélez-Hagan, who owns The Joint with his wife Laura Berrocal. Sign up here.

At the opening, customers were treated to giveaways and a free massage. More than 220 people showed up.

The Joint Chiropractic is located at 6244-E Little River Turnpike in the Plaza at Landmark. It’s open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 2:45-7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. It’s open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and it’s closed on Sundays.

Anyone experiencing back or joint pain is welcome to drop by, no appointment necessary. While The Joint doesn’t take insurance, its services are affordable, Vélez-Hagan says.

He became a believer in chiropractic adjustments when he had severe back pain about 15 years ago due to sports injuries and actions in the military. The back spasms were so bad, he couldn’t walk. His doctor recommended surgery, but he went to a chiropractor instead.

After a few sessions, the pain and spasms were gone. Chiropractors “help you function better all around and improve your well-being,” he says.

The Joint is a franchise operation with more than 700 locations. Vélez-Hagan plans to open another location of The Joint in Burke in five or six months.
