How is it that a murder and an attempted murder are listed as “aggravated assault?!”
Are we changing definitions again?
Murder should at least be Super Aggravated Assault. Ultra Assault.
I find this factoid interesting. Give the Fairfax County Police Department credit, at least they didn’t identify each of these incidents as a “mostly peaceful interaction.”
Don’t expect deep blue Fairfax County to act or behave rationally.
The best you can expect at this point is that Fairfax County remains a little behind San Francisco and New York City in adopting increasingly unhinged policies.
For those who think otherwise, you’re not paying attention.
100% agree. I’ve found it strangely liberating to accept that we’re doomed. Well stay safe out there folx.
Attempted murder differs from aggravated assault in intent, which has to be backed by sufficient, detectible evidence. This is not new. You can complain about definitions all you want, but it will be little more than the moaning of someone who didn’t take the time to look up some basic legal realities.
Specific detectable evidence like a bullet in a dead man’s chest, and a bunch of witnesses who saw someone maliciously shoot him?
I suppose we should be really safe and only state the number of police calls. The data as it’s presented is severely lacking. How about more meaningful metrics like conviction rate, violent crime percentage changes by zip, recidivism rate YoY, etc.
One or two less assaults reported than last week-i suppose our dem candidates in state-local politics will tell us all crime is down.
“Non-forcible sex violation ” — I had to look it up. Most commonly is statutory rape.
Pointed Object Gifting = Stabbing
Aggravated Friendship = Kidnapping
Beautiful Warmhouse = Fire
Ownership Reassignment = Theft
