The passenger in a vehicle involved in a crash in Bailey’s Crossroads last week has died, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

Gladys Bilbao, 93, of Falls Church, succumbed to injuries sustained in a crash at approximately 7 p.m. on Feb. 16.

Bilbao was in the front seat of a 2007 Toyota Corolla that was involved in a crash with a 2023 Toyota GR86 at the intersection of Leesburg Pike and S. Jefferson Street.

The driver of the Corolla had been heading eastbound on Leesburg Pike and turned left onto S. Jefferson Street in front of the GR85, which was traveling westbound on Leesburg Pike, resulting in the crash.

Both cars each had two occupants. All four were transported to hospitals for treatment.

Detectives are still investigating to determine whether speed was a factor. Anyone with information should contact the FCPD Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543.

This is Fairfax County’s seventh traffic crash fatality in 2024. During the same period in 2023, there were three traffic crash fatalities.
