Americana Drive cleanup set for Veterans Day

Trash on the site of Americana Drive.

How about taking some time on Veterans’ Day to help make your community a little nicer?

Join the volunteers at the community cleanup on Americana Drive in Annandale on Nov. 11, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Trash bags, gloves, and snacks will be provided.

Sign up online and meet at the tent on the corner of Americana Drive and Patriot Drive.

These community cleanups are held a couple of times a year, as trash, furniture, and construction debris pile up on the side of the road. Meanwhile, residents are pushing county officials to come up with long-term solutions.

  1. Students needing community service hours can get them through Friends of Accotink Creek. Hope to see you there!

  2. Please place the bags of trash and debris on the front driveway of each BoS member… The same crew that gave themselves an enormous salary raise… pushed through ZMod during the pandemic, failed on Lake Accotink, let school standards fall… and they can’t even solve a basic, simple litter issue. A mountain of trash in their driveways is the only award that matches their performance.
