In its first year, the Mason District Art Festival has brought together our local and regional art communities – representing a variety of mediums and art forms – to share what unites us.Â
Sponsors include ArtsFairfax, Mason Supervisor Andres Jimenez, former Mason Supervisor Penny Gross, Celebrate Fairfax, Beanetics Coffee Roasters, and the Providence Players.
We hope you will join us this Saturday to inaugurate the first of many Mason District Art Festivals!
I fully love and support the arts – but this isn’t Arlington w a huge tax base. This feels so tone deaf … in the midsts of a trashed out shopping center and homeless encampment nearby. What kind of blinders does Jimenez need to use when promoting this ? It’s a giant stretch to believe Art projects and bike lanes on central arteries will solve the issues faced by this community ? Case in point … a church picnic less than a mile away generates more attendance and revenue than 100 Jimenez art projects.
