Annandale man arrested after knife fight
Police charged an Annandale man with malicious wounding following a fight at the Casa Blanca Restaurant in Springfield.
The fight started inside the restaurant, at 6981 Hechinger Drive, around 2 a.m. on April 28 and continued in the parking lot, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.
Jose Reyes, 59, stabbed the victim in the upper body. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Reyes was taken into custody and charged with aggravated malicious wounding. He was released on bond.
Stabbing someone in the chest is attempted murder, not malicious wounding.
Meh, we don’t want attempted murder showing up on reports. Malicious wounding sounds less aggressive, and not many people will notice what you did. Shh…
Let’s not jump to conclusions about whether defendant is guilty or whether the Fairfax County Prosecutor’s Office has properly charged this alleged altercation.
Knifings are part and parcel of living in a large metropolitan area.
