Balian Springs set to open this summer

Balian Springs, a 100,000-square-foot “social wellness club,” is expected to open this summer in the Alexandria area of Mason District full of furniture stores, warehouses, and other commercial development.

“As of now, we are set to open by the end of August as long as our construction schedule runs on time,” says Balian Springs spokesperson Jennifer Chon. A construction worker on site doubted that deadline will be met, however, as much work remains to be done.

This building used to house federal offices.

The facility, at 6432 General Green Way, is holding a hiring event on Monday, July 11, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Job openings include front desk attendants, cooks, cleaners, guest services personnel, lifeguards, bartenders, locker attendants, human resources staff, bookkeeper, graphic designer, and maintenance technician.

“This first-of-its-kind daily membership-based social club is designed to transport you to your favorite tropical oasis,” Balian Springs states on Instagram. It will have “a luxurious beauty spa, delicious and nutritious eateries, two aqua bars, relaxing lounges, healing hydrotherapy pools, detoxifying saunas, and more.”

Balian Springs “curates unique journeys for those seeking a meaningful balance between mental, physical, personal, and social wellbeing.”

When Fairfax County approved the project in 2017, it was known as Spa Forest. Spa Forest Inc. purchased the property in 2016 for $9.75 million.
