Community meeting will address Backlick Road improvements

The main north-south road is Backlick Road.

The Fairfax County Department of Transportation invites the public to an online meeting Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m., on the Backlick Road Spot Improvements Project.

The project is aimed at relieving congestion and improving safety at the intersection at Backlick Road and Industrial Road in Mason District by adding an exclusive northbound left-turn lane. Plans also include the construction of approximately 1,250 feet of sidewalk on the east side of Backlick Road.

The project cost is $5.975 million, including $1.06 million for design, $375,000 for right of way and utility relocation, and $5.6 million for construction.

To attend the meeting, register with Webex here or call 1-844-621-3956 (access code 179 935 8761).

  1. Suggest alerting VDOT or any meeting organizer ahead of time to find out how meeting format will be organized. IF they offer 'prison' format where participants are unable to see other participants or see exact chat questions being asked by others, boycott the meeting. Constituents/Taxpayers deserve respect during Covid; NOT manipulation.
