Concerts in the parks continue this summer

Dogo du Togo (center) shared the music and rhythms of Togo at Ossian Hall Park on July 23.

The Spotlight by Starlight concert series is still going strong with many more shows coming up this summer.

There are free shows at Mason District Park Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday evenings and international performances at Ossian Hall Park in Annandale on Saturday evenings. All shows start at 7:30 p.m.

The Spotlight by Starlight series, one of several concert programs hosted by the Park Authority, continues until Aug. 20 at Ossian Hall Park and until Aug. 21 at the amphitheater in Mason District Park, The upcoming shows are listed on the Annandale Today Events page.

There are free children’s shows in the parks Saturday mornings at 10.

If it looks like rain, concertgoers should call 703-324-7469 (324-SHOW) before heading out.

In addition to the Spotlight by Starlight performances, there’s a Benefit Concert for Ukraine July 30, 4-7 p.m., at Mason District Park featuring Nuclear Deathcount, No Clue, and Jukebox Joints. A $15+ donation is suggested.

Aug. 12 – Crys Matthews and Heather Mae (blues, funk).
