Construction of new Seven Corners Fire Station underway
Farewell to the old Seven Corners Fire Station. The building has been demolished and the site is being prepared for a new, larger, and more modern fire station.
According to the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, the $13 million project is expected to be completed in spring 2024.
Meanwhile, station #28 is housed in a temporary building at 6637 South Street in Falls Church.
The new two-story, 13,500-square-foot fire station, at 2949 Sleepy Hollow Road, will have three apparatus bays, accommodations for female staff, energy-saving features, a stormwater management system, and a storage outbuilding in the rear.
The old fire station, built in 1975, was 8,500 square feet and had two bays.

The article notes that the new fire station will have accommodations for female staff. I hope that it will also have accommodations for male staff.
Huh?
This is confusing.
