‘Doumi girl’ operator sentenced for harboring illegals
The owner of an Annandale-based escort business was sentenced to two years and nine months in federal prison July 26 for harboring illegals, the Washington Post reported.
Youn Sok Chang, 41, operated a “doumi” business under the names “Da Bong,” “Romance,” or “Coco,” that provided “an attractive and provocatively dressed woman” to join customers at a bar—often Café Seoul and Café Tu Ah in Annandale—for a night of flirting, dancing, and singing” for $70 an hour, according to the paper.
The women were recruited from Korea, and Chang housed them at homes in Annandale and Falls Church. Chang pleaded guilty in May to conspiring to harbor and induce illegal immigrants to live in the United States.

Ok….how about prostitues? That is the end goal for paying a total stranger $70 an hour in a bar.
Well, if you are paying just for her time and not for sex, then it doesnt seem like prostitution to me. I went to a club like this in LA many years ago and had a lot of fun… without having sex. Honestly, it was cheaper than a date and easily as much fun.
The crime here was that they were undocumented, not that you spent a little money to dance with a pretty girl.
In April, the Associate Press stylebook dropped the terms illegal and illegal immigrant. From the AP blog: The Stylebook no longer sanctions the term "illegal immigrant" or the use of "illegal" to describe a person. Instead, it tells users that "illegal" should describe only an action, such as living in or immigrating to a country illegally.

It would probably be a good idea to adhere to AP guidelines, especially when dealing with a term that is largely considered offensive.
We usually call them undocumented. This one fell through the cracks.
