Firefighters seek donations for the Fill the Boot campaign

Fairfax County firefighters are at intersections during the Labor Day weekend soliciting donations for the Fill the Boot campaign, which raises money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Fill the Boot is a partnership between the Fairfax County Professional Firefighters and Paramedics- IAFF Local 2068 and the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.

It’s part of a national Fill the Boot campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The campaign started in 1954 when the International Association of Fire Fighters signed a proclamation designating MDA as its charity of choice.

Fill the Boot raises funds for research on therapies for multiple neuromuscular diseases and supports MDA’s mission to empower people living with these diseases to achieve their potential.
