Gallo Clothing is relocating to Woodbridge
After outfitting local healthcare workers for 20 years, Gallo Clothing in the Seven Corners Shopping Center is closing for good. The store’s last day is Thursday, July 27.
Meanwhile, just about everything in the store is marked down 25 to 75 percent.
Gallo Clothing specializes in scrubs for healthcare workers and also stocks other work uniforms, including doctor’s coats, chefs’ outfits, accessories, and more.
The landlord is raising the rent, so Gallo Clothing is relocating, says manager Doris Zelaya, who has been at the store for 20 years. It will reopen on Aug. 1 with a new name, Scrub Pro Uniforms, in the Potomac Mills outlet mall in Woodbridge.
Gallo Clothing is a regional chain with six locations in Maryland and a store in Norfolk. Scrub Pro Uniforms is a larger regional chain. Some Gallo stores have Scrub Pro departments.
Dogfish hasn’t been filled. The former hair salon hasn’t been filled. Is the landlord trying to empty businesses to redevelop?
I hope so but that’d be best case scenario and I know better than that. How long has that Sears across the street been (essentially) vacant? The area is an eye sore.
Yikes, First dogfish, now this place. Wonder what might replace it, or how long it will be empty. Dogfish has been empty for over a year now.
Fairfax should consider implementing a vacancy tax.
Very S A D — I pray, although I am beginning to think that the “Center” is going to end up like Culmore or Eden Center!! I am afraid to go to either of them.
Five Year Plan whatever happened to it? Where “Sears” was and down a block: town houses and retail-huh. This area is truly going to the slums. Local property owners aren’t the richest; although “we” shouldn’t have to go elsewhere for a “bit classy-good food restaurant”.
A few years ago I did telephone the Saul contact at that time. I suggested then about communicating with “Great American Restaurants” and trying to have one of that “group” to locate at seven corners. I even asked about updating like “Mosaic”. One of the comments was the different retail were under leases and would need to wait until they were up. “Oh Well”.
There’s a better chance Blockbuster returns to this storefront than Seven Corners gets redeveloped. No one puts money these days into an area that is unwalkable.
