Jimenez condemns ICE agent’s intimidation of a U.S. citizen
Mason District Supervisor Andres Jimenez has issued a statement condemning the actions of an ICE officer who pointed a firearm at a U.S. citizen in Bailey’s Crossroads on Aug. 10.
The ICE agents accused Carolina Molina of attempting to run them over with her vehicle. Video from her car’s dash cam shows that didn’t happen.
Jimenez called the event, recorded on Molina’s phone as well as her dash cam, “deeply disturbing and demands accountability.”
“No one in our community should have to fear unnecessary intimidation or excessive force from ICE. Those entrusted with enforcing our laws must do so with professionalism, transparency, and respect for the constitutional rights and dignity of every person,” he said.

“What we saw in this video deserves answers,” Jimenez said. “I will keep standing with our residents, making sure they know their rights, connecting them to resources, and demanding transparency and accountability when federal agents’ actions raise serious concerns.”
He calls on “federal agencies operating in our community to give residents an honest accounting of what happened.” The Department of Homeland Security’s “version of events does not match the video, and residents can see that for themselves.”
“Over the last several years, I’ve spoken with numerous constituents and community leaders about ICE’s visible presence in Mason District creating fear and unrest in our neighborhoods,” Jimenez said. “This incident is not isolated; it’s part of a larger, dangerous pattern, and I’m calling on federal officials to end it.”
“Mason District is a place where every resident deserves to live without fear,” he said. “I will keep fighting these injustices and demanding accountability until we see real change.”
The Fairfax County Democratic Committee also issued a statement urging federal authorities to conduct a full and transparent investigation into this incident, including the agent’s use of a firearm and the discrepancy between the government’s account and the available video.
“This is not an isolated incident,” the FCDC states. “This encounter reflects a broader pattern of escalation, intimidation, and questionable accounts surrounding immigration enforcement operations that communities in Northern Virginia and across the country have witnessed.”
“When federal agents can point a loaded weapon at a U.S. citizen following a verbal exchange, and then make allegations about her conduct inconsistent with available video, our community’s safety and trust in federal law enforcement are both at risk,” the FCDC says.
