  1. Fairfax County needs to demolish that apartment complex. Every week there’s always police presence there..

    1. demolishing wouldn’t do nothing but put other innocent families in a harsh predicament. a police sweep of all the trap spots and felons would prob be best but that likely is never gonna happen.

      1. I’m glad somebody finally pointed out that tearing buildings down, leaving innocent people on the street is NOT the answer….

  2. It was a perfectly decent and 100% safe complex when I lived there around 1977 in high school. I wonder what changed.

    1. lived there with a few family members for 2 years. its nothing like when the 70’s were around. filled with junkies, dealers, and soaring gang activity. Even the neighboring complex’s like parliaments, Wedgewood, vistas (Avant’s). all have been having the same problem but i feel like the root and highest is in fairmont tho.

  3. Terrible. Very sad and traumatic for the families who live there to be going through these incidents time and time again. Considering these are likely FCHS students (maybe Luther Jackson too?), would like to hear what preventative and responsive actions are being taken by Chief Davis, Supervisor Jimenez, school board rep Dr. Anderson and superintendent Dr. Reid.

    1. mgmt can barely provide heating, AC and proper cleaning and repair services what makes u think they can have full time security?

      1. Exactly. Last winter, it took a sit-down with local authorities, including public advocates and lawyers, to ensure all the residents had heat in their units in November and December ’22 and January ’23, even during the brutal (albeit brief) cold snap in December and January. Some people were actually sleeping in their kitchens next to their ovens in an attempt to stay warm.

The company that owns Fairmont Gardens is not hard-up for money; they have several quite swanky developments elsewhere. They simply do not want to provide decent quarters for the residents even while they jack up the rent. I cannot imagine them taking action to keep order and protect people from harm–at least, not in this neighborhood.

  4. Fairmont Gardens. 3rd or 4th killing in the last 5 years or so. A development that is 90% hispanic. They have or had a satellite police station there.
Annandale crime rate has soared. The local Safeway has merchandise stolen on a daily basis. Shop for 20 mins and you’ll see someone stealing.
Peking Cafe was robbed not long ago in the same stripmall.
Welcome to the new Annandale where safety is last on the list of priorities.

    1. Agreed, the Dems dont get it and the Republicans are lost in Trumpville. The blog has deleted my texts when I put the blame on the Dems and the elite liberals in Mason for voting into office incompetence. Dems have been in charge of Mason for decades, so don’t go blaming the Reps. Look in the mirror and be honest with the voters, Dems are doing a bad job on crime. And encouraging illegals to land here is equally irresponsible and contributing to the spike in crime rates in Annandale and Mason. Additionally, the Dems have not been supportive of FCPD by installing a buffoon as County Attny who has a revolving door for criminals at the courthouse.

Dems clean up your act or get out before we end up with Trump back in the WH.

  5. vaxmax – disagree – with your Republican comments – first – I am not a Republican – this is what I say “Republicans may not help solve your problems -but Democrats cause your problems” …And…they believe you can cool the planet and men can have babies- this tells you all you need to know about the present Democrat party – not my Grandmas Democrat party!

    1. Not a Republican, but spouting imagined republican grievances against the Dems that only exist on OANN and Fox News?

Checks notes. Pretty sure you’re a republican. Who’d you vote for in 2020? who are you gonna vote for in 2024?

    2. Mark must belong to the NUTS Party that keeps trying to make man babies unsuccessfully. Go figure, there are really worse parties than the MAGA kooks!
