Karaoke spot to open this month in Annandale

NRB Karaoke is expected to open this month at 4316 Markham St. in Annandale.
NRB stands for “noraebang,” which means karaoke in Korean, or more accurately, “song room,” says the owner, Eddie Chung.
“Designed to offer a more private and comfortable experience,” he says, “NRB Karaoke features cozy private rooms with comfortable seating, creating the perfect atmosphere for friends, family, coworkers, and celebrations of all kinds.”

The venue has seven rooms that can accommodate four to five people. Each room has two TV screens. Customers can access any song available on YouTube. Chung’s go-to karaoke song is anything by Justin Bieber.
NRB will offer fusion Korean food, such as snacks and finger foods. While it doesn’t have its own kitchen, it has an arrangement to share the kitchen at JMT Kitchen and Bar in the same building.
Chung plans to apply for an ABC permit, although he says alcohol isn’t necessary to enjoy karaoke. He wants NRB to be a family-friendly spot that attracts kids and teens, as well as adults up for a fun, late-night outing.

He hasn’t set the prices yet, but promises NRB will be less expensive than other noraebang spots in the area.
NRB Karaoke will be open 5 p.m.-2 a.m. Sunday-Thursday and 5 p.m.-3 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
