Lake Barcroft is teeming with artists

Paintings by Susan Flanders

Lake Barcroft has a large number of artists, and more than a dozen of them displayed their creations at the Lake Barcroft Art League’s Holiday Art Show and Sale Dec. 8.

“Coon Caper,” by Chica Brunsvold, an award-winning painter and former art teacher who specializes in watercolor and acrylics.

Paintings, ceramics, jewelry, fabric art, and photography were exhibited in three homes turned into mini-galleries. Here are just a few of the artworks on display:

Jewelry artist Debbie Ladwig makes necklaces and earrings from colorful stones and coral.
Randa creates “functional pottery” that can be used for cooking and can be put in microwave ovens and dishwashers.
Artist and author Alan Ladwig, the former manager of NASA’s Teacher in Space program, signs copies of See You in Orbit: Our Dream of Spaceflight. Ladwig creates mixed-media collages, many with a space theme.
Hand-painted silk scarves by Jan Barrett.
Nancy Garcia creates small oil paintings, many featuring animals.
Suzanne Schneider sells her jewelry on The Storied Bead site on Etsy.
Acrylic paintings by Loida Velilla.
