Man gets 40 years for human trafficking

A man who pimped girls in Falls Church, Alexandria, and Tysons Corner, as well as other locations in Northern Virginia and other states, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for sex trafficking of a child, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Eastern District of Virginia announced May 2.

Lenny Paul Haskins, 34, also known as “2 Much,” had pleaded guilty in January in federal court. According to court documents, Haskins, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Richmond, Calif., had been a pimp since at least 2005, and had prostituted 17 women and girls in the past few years, including one who was only 15 years old and identified in court records as “CB” and a 17-year-old identified as “YM.”

Haskins took all or nearly all of the money his victims earned; got some of them addicted to drugs; had his moniker, “2 Much,” tattooed on them; made them call him “daddy”; and isolated them from one another and from their families as a means of preventing them from leaving.

Haskins obtained sex customers for the women and girls he prostituted by posting advertisements on Internet sites, such as Backpage.com, Eros.com, Cityvibe.com, and MyRedBook.com. He made his victims pose for photos used in those ads. He set a daily monetary quota for this victims, requiring them to earn $1,000 a day from prostitution in some cases.

Last June, Haskins recruited CB and YM in Sacramento, Calif., both of whom had run away from foster care, and with the help of co-conspirators, prostituted them in Las Vegas, California, and Utah. He then sent them, via Greyhound bus, to Washington, D.C., and put them up in a hotel in Herndon where they engaged in commercial sex acts and sent the money they earned to Haskins via MoneyPak. 

“By 2012, Haskins had discovered that Northern Virginia is one of the most lucrative areas for pimps seeking to make money from prostituting women and girls,” a court document states.

When Haskins was arrested in Las Vegas last August, he continued to run his business while incarcerated. Many of the phone calls he made to CB and YM from his jail cell were recorded.  

Haskins also went by the names Sean Bannister, Paul, Tanarri Reed, Blake Deshawn, Fat Boy, and Kirsten Kinard.

This case was investigated by the FBI’s Washington field office and the Fairfax County Police Department. In addition to jail time, Haskins was ordered to pay $538,250 in restitution to the victims and to forfeit $738,250 to the United States.
