Community members – and their dogs – are invited to the Mardi Paws Pet Parade & Costume Contest on Saturday, April 22, in Annandale.

The event is 1-3 p.m. at the Forest Hollow Swim Club, 4330 Old Columbia Pike.

Register here.

All proceeds will go to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. Mardi Paws is sponsored by realtor Jamie DeSimone, of the Homes for All Team at Keller Williams Capital Properties, and the Forest Hollow Swim Club.

The entry fee is $20 for contest participants (human or pet) and $5 for non-contestants. The entry fee will be waived with a donation of a new unused toy or unopened food.

Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. Danielle Areco, the owner of Chico’s Natural Pet Market in Barcroft Plaza, will be one of the judges and will be wearing a full Brazilian carnival costume.

Areco is also organizing the pet contest at the Taste of Annandale on April 29. Register for this event here.
