Men arrested for shooting in Wakefield Park

The weekend crime report from the Fairfax County Police Department includes an incident of reckless discharge of a firearm and narcotics possession at Wakefield Park in Annandale at about 4:45 p.m. on May 30.

Someone had called the police to report a group of men shooting guns into the air in the park. Officers stopped a group of men inside an SUV leaving the park and found two handguns and narcotics in their possession.

Saad Werzeg, 21, of Annandale, was charged with possession of a Schedule I or II drug, possession of a Schedule I or II drug while possessing a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in a public park, a concealed carry weapon violation, reckless handling of a firearm, possession of a Schedule IV drug, and obstruction of justice.

Anis Sesay, 18, of Lorton, was charged with two counts of a concealed carry weapon violation, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule IV drug, reckless handling of a firearm, and possession of marijuana.

Mohamed Isse, 25, of Falls Church, was charged with possession of a Schedule IV drug and reckless handling of a firearm. Another man was charged with possession of marijuana and reckless handling of a firearm.

Police recovered a stolen 2015 Range Rover Evoque in the 4100 block of Wadsworth Court in Fairmont Gardens in Annandale shortly after 5 p.m. on May 30. Two teenagers seen walking away from the SUV were arrested after subsequent investigation. Charges are pending.

There was a robbery in the 6000 block of Bellview Drive in the Culmore area of Bailey’s Crossroads shortly after midnight on May 31. Three men approached the victim in a parking lot, displayed a knife, assaulted him, and stole personal property. The suspects, who were described as 25-year-old Hispanic men, ran away.
