Motorcyclist killed on Braddock Road
UPDATED Sept. 13, 4:45 p.m.: A motorcyclist who had been in a crash on Braddock Road at Southampton Drive at about 9 p.m. on Sept. 11 has died, the Fairfax County Police Department reported.
Police identified the motorcyclist as Russell Edwards, 45, of Burke. He was operating a 2025 KTM SMCR 390 motorcycle eastbound on Braddock Road when he struck a 2015 Toyota Corolla that was making a left turn onto Southampton Drive.
Edwards was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition and was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the Corolla was uninjured and remained on the scene.
Detectives with the Crash Reconstruction Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, including speed and alcohol.
Another motorcyclist had been killed in a crash on Braddock Road, at Kings Park Drive, in June.

So why wasn’t the driver of the Toyota charged with failure to yield? They made a left turn onto Southhampton directly into the biker’s path. Someone is dead because “they just didn’t see him”. Why is all that being glossed over? Speed and alcohol? Please. give me a break. Why are we shielding the guilty from prosecution? They won’t even release the driver of the Toyota’s name. I’m guessing we’re all just waiting for it to go away with the next news cycle now?
Left turns are the undisputed killers of motorcyclists. RIP.
