New Annandale playground has a butterfly theme

Annandale Community Park has a new picnic shelter and a new playground featuring butterflies and other small woodland creatures. 

The park, at 4030 Hummer Road, Annandale, is next to the Hidden Oaks Nature Center. 

The playground has separate areas for children ages 3-5 and ages 6-12.

The picnic shelter can be reserved online or by calling 703-324-8732. It has four tables and two restrooms. 

The improvements also include resurfaced tennis courts, trails, and parking lot. Funding is from park bonds approved by voters in 2012 and 2016.
