One dead after shooting in Bailey’s Crossroads

Updated May 8: Two people were shot early this morning in the 3800 block of S. George Mason Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads, the Fairfax County Police Department reported on Twitter. One victim has died, and the other has injuries considered to be life-threatening.

The man who died was identified as Maurice Anderson, 24, of Washington, D.C. The incident happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. in the Build America Plaza parking lot.

Both men had been at a restaurant at that retail strip. There was an argument in the parking lot where another man discharged multiple rounds striking the two victims. The suspect was seen entering an SUV being driven by a female and leaving the scene.
