An Annandale man struck while crossing John Marr Drive on Feb. 10 has died, the Fairfax County Police Department announced.

William Dunn, 83, was crossing John Marr in the middle of the block just south of Columbia Pike at about 8:30 p.m. when he struck by a 2010 Hyundai in the southbound land. Dunn was not in the crosswalk. He had been hospitalized since the crash.

The driver stayed on the scene. The police determined that speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.

  1. Bill Dunn was a faithful man of God. I have been a friend of Bill for 40 years. God has a place reserved for him in the Kingdom. signed DLR

  2. Something has to be done about pedestrians in downtown Annandale. They just run out in front of oncoming traffic. They walk in front of green lights. It’s ridiculous. I’m sorry he passed, but people walking across busy roads is a huge – preventable – problem.

  3. I agree. Tragic but so preventable. It’s a four lane very busy road and has blind spots going around the curve. I would be devastated if I had hit someone. So tragic
