Police arrest two suspects for shoplifting
Fairfax County Police detectives arrested two suspects for thefts of nearly $10,000 worth of merchandise from stores across the county, including Mason District, beginning in December 2025.
The thieves targeted Lego sets, small appliances, and clothing, and in several cases, sold the items to secondhand merchants, the FCPD announced May 21.
Police worked with regional loss prevention specialists at Target, Home Depot, and Walmart to identify the suspects.
On May 13, Reima McPherson, 43, of no fixed address, was taken into custody and was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where she is being held on no bond.
She was charged with eight counts of Grand Larceny, six counts of Petit Larceny, eight counts of Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny, four counts of Obtaining Money by False Pretense, four counts of Stolen Property with Intent to Sell, two counts of Identity Theft, Simple Assault, Destruction of Property, and Preventing a 911 call.
Also on May 13, John-Ross Dika, 31, of Fairfax, was located nearby and taken into custody with McPherson.
Dika was charged with four counts of Grand Larceny, four counts of Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny, two counts of Stolen Property with Intent to Sell, and Disregarding Police Command to Stop. He has since been released on bond.
The suspects were charged with the following thefts:
- 2900 block of District Avenue in Merrifield (Target), Dec. 18, Dec. 29, April 25, and May 6 – a total of $4,759 worth of merchandise.
- 14000 block of Chantilly Crossing Lane, Chantilly (Target), May 6 – $1,899.
- 6100 block of Arlington Boulevard, Seven Corners (Target), May 7 and May 9 – $1,828.
- 6200 block of Arlington Boulevard, Seven Corners (Home Depot), May 7 – $1,197.
- 5100 block of Leesburg Pike, Bailey’s Crossroads (Target), May 10 – $1,041.
- 4300 block of Chantilly Shopping Center Drive, Chantilly (Walmart), May 12 – $617.
