Police report shooting on Woodburn Road
The Fairfax County Police Department reports a shooting Sept. 18 in the 3300 block of Woodburn Road in Annandale. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound in the lower body, the department tweeted at about 6:30 p.m.
The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, which were subsequently upgraded to non-life threatening. The FCPD has not released a description of the suspect.
This is the address of the Fairfax Crisis Care Unit–a freestanding building adjacent to Inova Fairfax Hospital at the intersection of Gallows Road. Why this story didn’t explain that or get wider coverage I don’t know. This shooting took place during rush hour in a high traffic area that could have had additional unintended victims driving by. What about security at this mental health facility–does it exist?
