Police shoot suspect in Seven Corners

There was an officer-involved shooting in Seven Corners on Tuesday night.

During a press briefing, Police Chief Kevin Davis said narcotics detectives were in the Arlington Boulevard/Patrick Henry Drive area investigating the illegal distribution of drugs. They had probable cause to arrest suspects.

The suspects were inside a car. “The car took off and jumped a couple curbs,” Davis said. “They drove recklessly at a high rate of speed.”

“We blocked that car in, and one of our Fairfax County undercover detectives discharged his firearm during the apprehension effort to take these persons into custody,” he said.

The suspect is being treated in a hospital for “a non-fatal gunshot wound,” Davis said. He was shot in the upper body extremity, most likely the arm. “We expect him to survive.”

The officer will be on “routine administrative status” while the incident is being investigated..

  1. No one should have pity on the wounded suspect. This is human waste and needs to be treated as such.

    1. Nobody is “human waste” I fully agree that the man should be punished, but nobody is a waste … lost, YES.

  2. Stop shooting to wound. That isn’t how you are trained and you know it. There are deadly consequences to crazy behaviors such as these. Hold the “crazies” accountable.
