Recent crimes: assault, drugs, auto theft

The following crimes in the Mason District area were reported by the Fairfax County Police Department:

A 21-year-old man from Falls Church was charged with two counts of malicious wounding after a stabbing incident at Arlington Boulevard and Patrick Henry Drive in Seven Corners at about 3 p.m. on March, 24.

When officers arrived in response to a call for an assault, they found one man involved in two separate verbal altercations that escalated when he stabbed two victims. Both victims and the suspect were taken to the hospital and treated for injuries that were not considered life threatening.

Police found an unoccupied 2009 Toyota Highlander in the 3400 block of Carlin Springs Road in Bailey’s Crossroads at 9 p.m. on March 19 that had been stolen earlier that day. As officers were investigating, a 28-year-old man from Alexandria returned to the vehicle. He was arrested and charged with grand larceny and possession of a schedule I and II drug.

On March 22, officers saw a 25-year-old man from Alexandria driving a 2014 Chevrolet who had an outstanding warrant. The man was taken into custody shortly after 1 a.m. without incident.

An investigation revealed the displayed registration did not belong on the vehicle and the vehicle was stolen. The man was charged with grand larceny and the outstanding warrant was served.
