Recent crimes: Robbery, assault, shooting

The Fairfax County Police Department reports the following crimes in the Annandale/Mason District area in the past week.

Three men approached a juvenile in the 7500 block of Jaguar Trail at about 9:45 p.m. on June 3 and assaulted and robbed him. This does not appear to be a random act. The victim was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

The Wish Salon & Nails at 3000 Annandale Road was burglarized and vandalized at about 2 p.m. on June 5. A 47-year-old man was arrested for burglary and destruction of property on June 6.

There was a shooting incident in the 7300 block of Beverly Manor Drive shortly before midnight on June 4. Three juveniles were sitting on a curb when a white sedan drove by. A passenger inside the car displayed a firearm and shot in the direction of a home that was hosting a party. A 15-year-old girl was shot in the lower body and taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.

Wish Salon & Nails is across the street from where the 7-11 was robbed and where the chicken place is going in (DC Steakholders former location), which is next to the CVS drug deal dumpsters, by the needle exchange. An astute commenter recently pointed out that crime will continue to climb in this area. It’s like some readers of this blog are psychic or something.

  2. I do not understand why the police allow the loitering out side of that 7-11. The guy in the black garbage bags does not cause problems and he lives out back. He is mentally ill and I feel really bad for him. But the shoulder tappers there are aggressive. Just last weekend a drunk shoulder tapper started swearing at me when I told him I did not have change.

    1. I spoke to the 7-11 owner a couple months ago and he was happy that the police were telling all the loiterers to go away. Don’t know what happened because they are all back.
