Recent crimes: robbery, assault

The following crimes in the Annandale/Mason District area were reported by the Fairfax County Police Department.

Someone robbed the Chipotle at 6299 Seven Corners Center shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 22. A security employee witnessed a man on surveillance cameras enter the business and take merchandise. Officers found the 22-year-old Falls Church man nearby and arrested him for burglary and possession of burglarious tools.

There was a robbery in the 3200 block of Shadwick Place in Merrifield at 5 p.m. on Aug. 23. A man approached the victim, displayed a handgun, took property, and left in a vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Five men assaulted an individual and took property shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 19 at Heritage Drive/Lafayette Forest Drive in Annandale. The victim was treated for injuries not considered life threatening.

A man assaulted a victim on Aug. 23 at 10:30 p.m. on Gorham Street/Leesburg Pike in Bailey’s Crossroads. The assailant took property and ran away. There were no injuries.

There was an attempted robbery in the 4300 block of Backlick Road in central Annandale on Aug. 21 shortly before 3 a.m. Four men displayed knives and demanded property from two victims. The victims ran away. No property was taken.
