Annandale pharmacist wins national award for customer service

Annandale pharmacist Triet (Tony) Nguyen is a winner in the nationwide “Best of the Best Pharmacy Awards” sponsored by SingleCare, a prescription savings service.
Nguyen works at the Safeway at 7414 Little River Turnpike. He was selected for the “Above and Beyond” award in recognition of his efforts to regularly deliver medications for those who can’t make it to the pharmacy or can’t wait for mail delivery.
“I live in Fairfax, not far away from the pharmacy, and I pass through a lot of the neighborhoods where our customers live anyway, so I offer to deliver to them. I think they appreciate that,” Nguyen says. He even brings flu and shingles vaccines to some homebound customers.
When one customer who got a flu shot left his credit card at Safeway, Nguyen brought it to his house. “He was so grateful,” Nguyen says. “He became a customer of our pharmacy after that.”
I just received my vaccine shots from him the other day and really appreciated his courteous, competent manner!
